PRACTICE
Susan has a diverse corporate and transactional practice, representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contract review and negotiation, financing transactions, employment matters and other transactional matters.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior to joining LANCASTER | HELLING, Susan served as Senior Securities Counsel and Senior Director for Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. Susan played an instrumental role in the business reorganization and spinoff of Freescale from Motorola, Inc., and in the establishment of Freescale as a publicly reporting company. Susan also previously served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Concentra, Inc. Susan began her career as an associate at Haynes and Boone, LLP in Dallas, Texas.
EDUCATION AND ADMISSIONS:
Susan received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she served as the Symposium Editor of the S.M.U. Law Review. Susan is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
ACTIVITIES AND AWARDS:
Susan is an active supporter of children and education, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools – Central Texas, Inc. Susan is also interested in preserving the quality and character of the Austin community and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Society of Austin. She also serves as a member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board and of the Advisory Board of the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University. Susan previously served as the Chair of the Corporate Counsel Section for the Austin Bar Association.
